Whats happening in February

Here’s some things that are happening in the month of February. 

The Elgin Stampeders are having their annual Crab Feed Saturday, February 6^{th at the Stampede Hall.　 The cost is $27.00 per person, $25.00 dollars for 65 and older, 8 to 12 is $17.00 and 7 & under is $6.00.　 This is a all you can eat event.　 Come see all your friends at the Crab feed!}

Friends of Scouting is having their annual Breakfast fund raiser on Wednesday, February 10 starting at 6:45am at EOU Hoke Hall 309.　 Come and join the fund and be a part of this great organization – call Don @ 541-963-6085 for reservations.　 These are some of our future leaders and they need your support.

Union County Chamber of Commerce is having their annual conference on Tuesday February 26th.　 This is one of the County’s most well tended and most popular event.　 The chamber of commerce recognizes Man & Women of the year, Educator of the year, Business Person of the year and Entrepreneur of the year.　　 For reservations call the Chamber office at 541-963-8588 or if you want to host a table there may still be room.

Additions to our Marketing

Last year John J Howard & Associates Real Estate introduced video marketing for our Sellers and later in year we released an Application for MLS properties for Smart Phones.  

Videos of our listings has proven to be an effective marketing tool.  Sellers like it and Buyers love it.  Buyers have the opportunity to view in much more detail of the property and of the surrounding neighborhood.   In today’s busy schedules, Videos save the buyers time by narrowing the homes that they want to view.  Video marketing also gives the Sellers an opportunity to display the features of the home that would not be possible by photos.  Later in the year we released a new product for Buyers that are searching for homes. 

 Our office now has a down-loadable MLS Application for Smart phones.  Just text JHHOMES to 87778 and the instructions to download the application will be sent to you.  You can actually be standing on the sidewalk in front of the home and view the photos and read the features of the home.  If you need more information or if you want to view the home, just hit the call for more information or just send us a text message.  It’s that simple.

Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival 2008

The First annual Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival will kick off on August 22 and 23. For two days, downtown La Grande will be transformed into a bounty of music, art, theater, film and food with events and activities showcasing our community’s creative side. Our goal is to create an exciting, polished and well-rounded event that our community can be proud to call its own.

Sponsored by the La Grande Downtown Development Association with the help of community partners like Eastern Oregon University, Union County Tourism and the City of La Grande, the event has been strategically planned with long-term growth in mind. Our goal is to generate ever-growing interest in our community and the opportunities within.

Union County Animal Fund Raiser Event

John J Howard and Associates Real Estate joined the fund raising event that was organized by Bowlers Art Gallery. Jeff Clark and John Howard attended the event. The event was well attended and Bobby Bowler reported that the event raised over $1,000 dollars for the Union County Animal Shelter. The Bowlers Art Gallery is located in downtown La Grande and has recently completed their remodel project. Bowlers Art Gallery sells products for local Artist and they are located on Depot Street in Downtown.
